The idea of a war in Iraq is now a reality.  Tens of thousands of our bravest men and women, stationed halfway around the globe, have answered the call to arms.  They serve to defend this country, to defend this world, to defend the basic freedoms so often taken for granted.

Brothers and Sisters, whether you are for or against this conflict, I ask that you join me, in offering our prayers and best wishes for our troops engaged in this battle.  They deserve our full and unwavering support, our respect and our pride.

These men and women, the rank and file of the armed forces, are ready and willing to lay down their lives, to protect us, and the freedom we enjoy. God bless all of our men and women in uniform, and allow them to return quickly and safely home, to their friends and families, so that they can enjoy the liberties that they have so selflessly defended.
